Support Services
We not only appreciate the commitment that South Whidbey Fire and Rescue volunteers make on behalf of the community, we also appreciate the contributions made by their families and loved ones. Their support is vital and appreciated.
- What special events are held each year?
- Throughout the year there are opportunities to get together at annual social events where the outstanding service and personal contributions of everyone affiliated with the department is recognized. These include the Fall Picnic, Christmas Party, and Awards Banquet.

- Who is invited and what is the purpose of these gatherings?
- Depending on the event, our volunteers and their family members are invited. These provide a social occasion where we can formally and informally thank those who give so much behind the scenes support to our firefighters and EMTs. These events also provide a relaxed setting for fellowship and for getting better acquainted with members of this community.
- How can I get involved?
- It's easy! If you are a spouse, family member or in some other way connected to a member of the department and wish to participate in planning our special events, we'd love to hear from you. Click to download the
Volunteer Application. Completed applications can be dropped off in person by the applicant at 5535 Cameron Rd, Freeland, WA 98249 during normal department hours so the administration may review the package and give any final instructions. In the alternative it can be mailed but this will cause a delay in processing the application. Faxed or E-mailed applications will not be accepted. If you have specific questions please call us directly at (360) 321-1533.
